Deb Kiehlmeier, DO
Board-Certified Psychiatrist
Offering telepsychiatry services to patients throughout Oregon and Washington as well as in-person psychiatric services to patients local to Portland, Oregon as-necessary.
About
I am a board-certified general psychiatrist who works with adults 18+. I am originally from New Jersey, where I completed my undergraduate degree at Rutgers University and then attended medical school at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduating, I completed my psychiatric residency at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
I am now based in Portland, Oregon, where I see patients throughout Oregon and Washington virtually. I am also able to meet with local patients in-person if needed.
Approach
I have experience diagnosing and treating all mental health disorders, but focus primarily on anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD and ADHD.
I also have extensive experience working with LGBTQIA+ patients.
In modern psychiatry, many patients are prescribed unnecessary psychiatric medications.
Through both my training and personal experiences, I have learned that the western approach to mental health is often too focused on symptom management as opposed to understanding and treating root causes.
I am committed to working with patients to find their minimum effective medication dosage, as well as addressing any other factors that may be impacting their mental health.
Insurance
I am currently in-network with BCBS and Pacific Source. Patients with other insurance plans may pay for visits in cash.
Upon request, I will provide invoices for patients seeking reimbursement from their insurance company or FSA/HSA.
